Salford's Media City UK
Salford’s MediaCityUK recently launched a 12-week Smart City Test Bed programme in collaboration with Digital Catapult and UPventures, to provide businesses a platform to showcase how their technologies could be implemented in real-world urban environments. As part of this project, R-Com Technical developed a solution to monitor and report on air quality and footfall in the heart of MediaCityUK.
Location – MediaCity UK, Salford, Greater Manchester M50 2NT
Aims
To develop and implement a comprehensive monitoring system for air quality (AQ) and footfall in a designated location within the heart of MediaCityUK, enabling the collection of precise and reliable data. This system will facilitate accurate reporting on key metrics, such as pollutant levels and visitor traffic, allowing stakeholders to gain valuable insights into environmental conditions and urban activity.
By utilising advanced IoT technologies, the system will ensure real-time data transmission and historical data storage, supporting ongoing analysis and evaluation. The insights garnered from this monitoring system will be instrumental in informing policy decisions, enhancing urban planning initiatives, and promoting a healthier, more vibrant community within MediaCityUK.
